Ho Chi Minh City, formerly known as Saigon, is a vibrant metropolis that blends French colonial architecture with bustling markets, street food stalls, and modern skyscrapers. With its rich history, delicious cuisine, and friendly locals, Ho Chi Minh City is a city that will leave you wanting more. This 3-day itinerary will help you make the most of your time in this fascinating city.

Day 3: Beyond the City: Cu Chi Tunnels or Mekong Delta

  • Option 1: Cu Chi Tunnels: Take a half-day trip to the Cu Chi Tunnels, a network of underground tunnels used by Viet Cong guerillas during the Vietnam War. Explore the tunnels, learn about the guerillas' ingenuity, and even crawl through some of the tunnels yourself.

  • Option 2: Mekong Delta: Take a day trip to the Mekong Delta, a vast network of rivers and canals. Cruise through the delta, visit floating markets, and explore traditional villages. Enjoy a delicious lunch of fresh seafood and local specialties.

  • Evening: Celebrate your last night in Ho Chi Minh City with a rooftop dinner and drinks with stunning views of the city skyline.

Additional Tips:

  • Get a Xe Om (motorbike taxi) or Grab (ride-hailing app) to get around the city.

  • Bargain at the markets, but be respectful.

  • Tipping is not expected, but appreciated.

  • Learn a few basic Vietnamese phrases to impress the locals.
